COLOSSIANS: THE LIFE ALTERING MYSTERY OF JESUS - Our world today is fascinated with the supernatural and "spiritual", but not really looking for either among the followers of Jesus. The world of the 1st century was much the same. Paul wrote a letter to a young church in the city of Colosse 1953 years ago to encourage and teach them how to combat some of the hair-brained, life-destroying, and just plain false ideas about God that were popular in that time. Given the similarities between our world and Paul's, there is much to learn about how our faith in Jesus relates to and powerfully speaks to some of the biggest questions of our time as well. Invite a friend to experience the next four weeks together as we explore the Life Altering Mystery of Jesus in the New Testament letter of Colossians!
May 19th "Secret Knowledge or Revealed Mystery?" - Colossians 1:3-2:5
May 26th "Against Your (Human-made) Laws!" - Colossians 2:6-23
June 2nd "Killing the Caterpillar" - Colossians 3:1-17
June 9th "Serving Jesus by Serving Others (with All of Your Heart)" - Colossians 3:18-4:6

PASSION, PROMISE, AND PRAISE - Join Paul Brott THIS SUNDAY, MAY 19TH, as he starts a study of selected Psalms. In Psalms, God speaks to us of the nature of the Divine, the nature of humankind, and their relationships to each other. In the Psalms, people speak to God of cares and feelings people of all ages have experienced. The writers speak of their faith and fear, struggles and successes, and joys and sorrows. They evoke in us emotions that are as real and genuine for us as they were for the psalmists of old. The group will meet between services (9:30 - 10:20 a.m.) in the View Room.
