Hope Lutheran is a private Christian school committed to providing quality academic instruction and equipping students from preschool through grade 8 for lifelong learning. Our class size fosters academic excellence with an average student teacher ratio of 18:1. Hope Lutheran School is fully accredited through the National Lutheran School Accreditation. Adding enrichment programs in music, art, Spanish, physical education, drama, and technology enhances our challenging academic curriculum. Hope Lutheran School Profile
Hope Lutheran is a private Christian school located in beautiful West Seattle. Hope opened in 1959 with 88 students in grades K-5 and over time has grown to serve over 228 students from preschool through grade 8. Hope Lutheran School is fully accredited through the National Lutheran School Accreditation and Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges.

Hope Lutheran School is committed to providing quality academic instruction and preparing our students to be life-long learners. Hope Lutheran School maintains a class size that fosters academic excellence with an average student teacher ratio of 18:1.

Hope Lutheran enhances our challenging academic curriculum with specialty teachers in music, physical education, special education and Spanish. Technology is incorporated into the curriculum with computers in the library and every classroom.

Hope’s athletic program offers many team sports including cross country, volleyball, basketball, track, dance drill and cheerleading.

Hope students take the Iowa Achievement Tests in the spring and typically score well above the national average.

Hope Lutheran School offers before and after school enrichment through our Extended School Care (ESC) program.

Hope Lutheran offers a Discovery Program that is affiliated with the National Instituted for Learning Disabilities (NILD). Our on staff program director is a trained NLID teacher.

Hope’s student body is comprised of students from West Seattle and surrounding communities. Hope is affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Our student body is 40% Lutheran, but consists of other religions, including members of the Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, and Jewish faiths.
