When Jesus was born to a woman pregnant before marriage, he could have ended up with a lifetime of scandal hanging over him and his name. Fortunately, Joseph agrees to go forward with his marriage to Jesus’ mother, Mary, and adopts Jesus as his own son. As a result, Jesus is given great honor instead of scandal. Paul encourages us with the good news that by faith in Jesus, God adopts each of us as His own sons and daughters and brings us into his family!
